Hello and welcome

I am always surprised and delighted by the visitors who call into my blog from all over the world. Today we've had visits from Australia, United States, Canada, Indonesia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, South Africa, France, Venezuela, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Romania, Spain, United Arab Emirates and Portugal.

I am particularly pleased to see the visitors from Scandinavia as I had a Swedish grandmother and I feel a connection to your icy lands. I'm sure it's why I enjoy the cold instead of the heat.

Most people don't comment so this is my chance to say hello and welcome. I would love an email if you have time to make contact.

I hope you all enjoy the reading. Please get involved in the swaps, they are a lovely way to connect with people all over the world. There will be a new one starting soon.

We have had over 45,000 visitors since May and I must say, it still surprises me that my blog is popular. I must look in my sewing room and find a nice giveaway for the day of the 50,000th visitor, which will probably be next week.

Thank you for stopping by today. : )

  1. Hi Rhonda, have still been reading your blog but not commenting this week as work and the school holidays have kept me occupied. Got my napkins today from the lovely Heather, with a beautiful watercolour painting that she painted herself! How lucky am I! Hopefully I will get some time later tonight to post pictures on my blog!

  3. RJ, I am in the middle of constructing my new blog right now and I feel some substantial pressure to make it worthy reading! I can't wait for the next swap. I missed the last one when our modem died, but I'm ready and waiting for the next. Lisa J

  6. Hi Rhonda Jean, I recently found your blog and I'm enjoying it so much. You are inspiring me to start a garden and begin canning and storing up food . I have always wanted to be more independent of the stores and energy companies. I also love your embroidery patterns. Terry

  7. My dear Rhonda:
Your ideas are so useful. You write without judgement or censor. This is why I keep coming back, everyday and you have inspired me to begin writing myself. You show us that living simply is beautiful, fruitful and a goal that could be accomplished.
    Thank you.

  8. Hello Rhonda,

  9. Hi Rhonda Jean. I discovered your blog through "Sew Green". I live in Maryland in the United States and have immensely enjoyed reading your blog. I have been trying to pare down my lifestyle to a much simpler one. It is hard with two teenage daughters and a technology obsessed husband. I feel it is up to me to lead the way much as you have suggested. Thanks again for all your suggestions about living simply. I look forward to new posts.

  10. Thank you for such a nice greeting! I just love your blog. I was wondering if you would share about how large you property is. We own a acre and we have a pretty large garden but you seem to use your whole yard so I was wondering how large it is?

  11. Hi Rhonda Jean,

I think that your blog is so popular because everyone likes the way that you write. There are many people that want to get back to the way life used to be. A simpler life, less filled with wants. There are so many chemicals that are killing off the human race we all need to be a little more "Down to Earth" before we kill the Earth and everything that lives on it.
You show us easy ways to live properly. 50,000 hits sure is a remarkable feat. You are a great teacher. We need more of you in this world.
    Thanks, Paula

  13. Hi Rhonda, I too have just discovered your blog (and your links to several others). It is wonderful to have found like-minded people - and so close to home - I too am on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland (west of Eumundi). I am on a week's holiday this week and have spent a good proportion of that time reading your old (and new) blogs. Keep it coming! and thank you. Robbie

  15. Hi Rhonda, started reading your blog a couple of weeks ago, found you through sew green.Finished reading all the archives last night so now feel I'm on the same page as everyone else. You have provided me with many tips, many memories, much inspiration. I am hopeful that I will be successful in slowly changing my lifestyle to a simpler one. Have all the chemical cleaners out of the house and use your recipes for laundry and cleaning compounds. Started a garden this year and plan a larger one next year. I am doing my best to shop locally and have found a great farm stand here in Massachusetts,US that lists on their signs where the food comes from. I never would have paid attention to that before. Thank you for time and effort you put into being neighborly with your friends all over the world. I hope that some day I can be that helpful to another, and by baby steps, we can change this downward spiral we are in regarding our environment. I promise to keep in touch. Thanks,Meri
