Weekend reading

It was back to summer bed linen for us this week although just after I did that, it rained for a few days and I regretted being so eager to change. I hope the weather where you live is good and you're able to get out on the weekend, fill your lungs with fresh air and enjoy yourself.  Our German family arrives tomorrow for a month's holiday. It will be good to see them again.

  1. I have a problem sometimes remembering you are on the other side of the world. Here we are just now getting into cooler weather. In Texas the weather can change on a dime. Last week it was record setting 97 degrees here, this morning it was 47 when my husband left for work. It is supposed to be in the low 80's here. I turned off the air conditioner and opened the windows to bring in a little fresh air.
We finally got some rain last week and are supposed to get a bit tomorrow. I hope so, I am not sure if it made the national news or not but a good deal of the Texas land around our area has been on fire for more than a week. The rain last week let the fire fighters finally put it out. More than 100 families lost their homes. Some for the 2nd time, there was a huge fire in 2011 that took out Bastrop State Park and almost the whole city of Bastrop. (My family lives there)

  2. I'm happy to say I never like Doritos or Twinkies. :) But I'm not sayin' I never liked any junk food. :D

  3. It kind of threw me when I read you are getting out your summer linens, then remembered you are heading into summer. I just washed our flannel sheets to have ready as we are quickly facing winter here in Canada. Love your weekend reading feature; thanks for sussing out interesting tidbits and sharing.

  4. I just put the second quilt on the bed, it has been just above freezing the last few nights! I'm ready to sit back with my crocheting and watch my blog friends down south work in your gardens while I sit in front of the fire! Enjoy your company...

  5. It's been beautiful here, finally feeling like fall here in Florida and we're really enjoying it. Looking forward to taking the kids trick-or-treating and celebrating my son't 3rd birthday (and my bday as well, he was my little birthday present :) ).

  6. And here on the other side of the globe we are putting on Winter duvets, lighting fires in the evening and cosying the house up ready for Winter.

The Autumn colours here in North Wales where I live are absolutely wonderful this year and the views from the windows are wasting far too much of my time, but I'm determined to drink in all the beauty before we turn into a soggy mess of fallen leaves and bare trees.

    Have a good weekend. xx
