Weekend reading

We're having a fairly mild winter so far with cool to cold nights and warm sunny days. It's ideal gardening weather. How is it where you live?  I haven't had much time for gardening this week because I've been writing the notes for my blogging course. Happily, I've finished that now and I'm hoping to get out into the garden this afternoon to tie up some wayward tomatoes and sweet peas and fertilise some of the vegetables.

I hope you've had a good week. I look forward to seeing you again on Monday.  ðŸ˜‹

  1. Lost socks are the house keeping bain of my life! I read somewhere just to buy bulk the same variety of socks in each size, so they always have a pair. So I stick to buying a particular brand for all the boys but alas I pick up a slightly different shape or they change the color of the foot. -_- I still pair up odd ones, but still I currently have a small cloth basket FULL of odd socks. I just do not understand what they do with them.

And thanks for the sauerkraut recipe - I have been watching mine dwinde in my fridge for the last couple of weeks, meaning to get a new batch started but I lost my recipe and had not got around to searching. :)

There appears ot be alot of losing things in this place.....its like a black hole! ;)

  2. Wow, Rhonda - I had never heard of Mary Berry, but I started watching the video and couldn't tear myself away. Now my mouth is watering and it's bedtime. :D Thanks for that link. I'll be looking up more of her programs!

We've also had a fairly mild winter thus far and pretty dry too but it's all going to change from tonight, apparently. So I've spent this morning burning off a huge heap of garden waste - we live on a bush block with too many natives so the leaves fall non stop and there's just too much for the compost to cope with. It's a good feeling when the big heap disappears. Also pruning back a few things. Thanks for the reading list - it'll probably be Monday before I get to look at it closely. Friends for supper tomorrow evening and a hopefully quiet day with my sweetheart on Sunday. Have a great weekend..

  6. I live alone and still manage to have stray socks! I think my washing machine eats them. Occasionally I will find one tucked into the corner of a fitted sheet.
Melbourne has been having nice sunny but a little chilly days and not much rain. Ideal for pulling out the weeds.

  8. Hi Rhonda, Received you blogging course notes last nights and read through them. Fabulous! Thank you. Your bread looks delicious.

It's very hot here this time of year. I watered all of the plants this morning and am now working on my blog. I plan to finish knitting a pair of socks this afternoon and do some yoga.

  9. Hi Rhonda, Just wanted to let you know how much I love your blog (old and new) and the emails I receive, the weekend reading is always interesting and thought provoking. I take pride in caring for my home and family by cooking from scratch, growing fruit and veg, making cleaning products, repurposing items, etc. Thank you so much for sharing all that you do with us and I hope you continue to do so for a very long time :)
