From today, you cannot post anonymous comments on this blog. I have had a few nasty anonymous comments lately. These people never have the courage of their convictions and never leave a link to their own blog. Life's too short to read the blatherings of unpleasant, critical people. Do it elsewhere, not here. We prefer to focus on the positive. On a brighter note, I look forward to many more wonderful comments from the good people who read here.
I hope you have a beautiful weekend. ♥
Hi Rhonda,...
ReplyDeleteThat's a very smart move :) :) :) I saw some of those comments and it made me sad and well...I won't say what else...You're a really neat lady and I LOVE reading your blog...lots of sage advice!!!!
Did I ever mention that I had wanted to study in Australia when I was in high school? Well, it's many years since...but maybe one of these days.
Have a lovely weekend!!! I'm looking forward to more of your posts!!!! Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :) :) :)
Good for you, Rhonda. Well put too, life IS too short for that sort of rubbish.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so very sorry! That's terrible! I don't understand why people who would never do something like that were they physically in your presence think it's perfectly OK to do so in the 'ether'....
ReplyDeleteI read your blog often but comment rarely. Thanks to you I have a workable, reliable liquid soap recipe. I can't tell you how grateful I am!
Some people apparently have too much time on their hands. Life's too short to deal with negative people. I for one LOVE your blog and have learned a lot. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteits a shame those sort of people have nothing better to do then pick faults with others. I think you are a great person with great simple ideas, and I use what i can in my life and take note of the other ideas as they may not work for me now, but in the future, who knows. Thank you for your blog, and ignore the ignorant. Hugz from Longwarry, victoria.
ReplyDeleteYou are a fantastic person and I love reading your blog, though i dont comment very often. its a shame these people do not have anything better to do with their time than being negative towards others. ignore them and keep up with the good work. I use a lot of what you talk about, and what I dont, i take note of for later, as who knows it may become relevant for me down the track. I look forward to reading your blog every day, while eating my breakfast. it feels like you have become a part of my daily ritual, and a part of my family, you are the grandmother I no longer have who can offer some very old school advice that eveyone seems to have forgotten in this busy world. Thank you,
ReplyDeletelove from the grand daughter you didnt know you had LOL, from Longwarry, Vic.
Oh how disappointing that people would be rude! I'm glad you're taking steps to keep that sort of ugliness away.
ReplyDeleteThank you, always, for such a great blog!
Good for you! I love reading your blog and look forward to seeing what is going on with you. That is terrible that people feel they have to leave negative posts. Onward and Upwards girl!! I'm proud of you and have a great evening/day tomorrow. Hugs! ~ Laura
ReplyDeleteRhonda keep up the good work and stand by your convictions. I follow your blog but don't always get to read it thoroughly. I congratulate you with all the work you have done including with ALS.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Colleen
Hi Rhonda Jean,
ReplyDeleteI'm just popping in to catch up on a few days worth of missed reading. I'm sorry to read you've had problems with the nasties leaving nasty comments. I've had a few on my old blog too - not nice.
Anyway, just wanted to say that you have caused a revolution in my soup-making skills. Since your post on that (after I asked about it - thank you so much), I've made pumpkin and bacon, vege soup a few times already, and I'm attempting pea and ham tomorrow. Thank you so much! The children are loving the soups, and they last us several days for lunches which is amazing when I have 6 mouths to feed.
Hope you have a beautiful weekend.
I'm all for expressing a different opinion but there is never an excuse to be rude, it takes no effort to use your manners and if your that upset that you forget them then it's probably best to keep your mouth shut or in this case your typing to yourself! I had to monitor comments when someone thought it would be OK to advertise their unrelated business through my blog comments without asking, little bit rude I think! Hip hurrah for good manners I say.
ReplyDeleteHi Rhonda,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that you have had mean spirited comments. I look forward to reading your postings everyday. You have been a real inspiration for me and your blog gives me the encouragement to continue living my life the way I want to and not how society thinks I should. Thank you. Tricia from New Hampshire
I learn so much from you Rhonda, and gain so much inspiration to continue on this path to the simple life for myself and my family. Many thanks for your wonderful blog.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to be mean fair enough, but at least have the guts to let people know it's you. It's a shame you've had to alter things but best if it keeps things civil :o)
ReplyDeleteoh Rhonda, that is horrid. Such a waste of space these comments. This is YOUR blog, if they don't agree or wish to read it, then they should click off. Keep up the great work. Too right, life is far too short for crap.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have been able to take positive steps to get rid of negative rubbish :o) Love your Blog.
ReplyDeleteOh Rhonda that's horrible! It's the one thing I fear and prevents me publicising my blog more but I suppose it comes with the territory, sadly - the more people you attract, the chances are there are going to be some bad ones in the bunch! :-(
ReplyDeleteTeresa x
Oh my goodness...I can't even imagine what anyone would have to say that was negative! I always love your posts! But I understand and think it's a smart move! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day Rhonda! :)
Unbelievable......
ReplyDeleteif you can't put your name to it, don't say it
ReplyDeleteHere , here.........if you dont like what we are all on about here, then why would you bother to read the blog and take the effort to leave a horrible comment..............
ReplyDeleteIf anyone needs to maybe change their lifestyle, then it may be these people?????
All that energy they could be putting into living a better life.....
Maybe we should feel a little sorry for them...........Suzanne...xx
Good for you Rhonda, unfortunately ther are thoughly unpleasent people in the world - but we here, in our little 'community' do not have to put up with it.
ReplyDeleteLife is too short to dwel on it - we have bread to make and chickens to feed!
Chin up!
Vicky x
I think thats horrible and could never understand that...if you dont like someones blog, then dont read it! Good for you...and i LOVE your blog :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is sad when people have to behave that way, in life or on the internet. Life is way too short to continuely criticize others. We should be encouraging and helping one another.
ReplyDeleteGood move! Life is too short! I think you have a great blog and I enjoy reading it!
ReplyDeleteHi Rondha
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with your attitude.
We know that such things always happen, then they should be treated radically.
Hugs
Nina
I am so sorry to hear about the nasty comments. I wish people had enough good sense to not post them and keep them to themselves.. If you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything....
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and your advice. I enjoy your photos and all you do.. Keep up the good work! Have a blessed weekend... hugs from Wisconsin, Dawn
Advice from my mom that I've always kept. If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all. Way to go Rhonda. Keep them honest.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will get many positive comments to offset the unpleasant ones cowards have left for you.
ReplyDeleteI am very grateful for your blog. I discovered it a week or so ago and I have read many of your posts. Thanks so much!
Good deal my friend, that is a shame that folks do not leave the name, must be ashamed of what the comment about, me I am always forward, my name goes in all, hugs my friend, and I love your blog, and keep it that way, have a very great weekend too, hugs, Barbara
ReplyDeleteSmart thinking Rhonda - after all, you deserve only the best - grin :).
ReplyDeleteI hope YOU have a beautiful weekend too!
Rhonda,
ReplyDeleteGood for you. life is too short to deal with that stuff. Anyway, obviously they have the problem...
Lori
Good idea!! I moderate the comments on my blog and if I don't like what is said I reject it. It's MY blog after all. I get alot of comments in other languages and if I can't read it I don't publish it. Thoughtful discussion is one thing but hateful blathering is uncalled for. You're a blessing - keep it up! God bless you.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I hesitated to even allow any comments on my blog for just that reason. I cannot imagine how anyone could ever even pretend to find anything nasty to say about your blog. I have been reading it faithfully since you first started ~ though I seldom commented~ and I have thoroughly enjoyed your writing and learned many new things. Keep uo the good work and as we say here in the mountains, "You just look over those folks, honey ~ they don't have good sense!
ReplyDelete(But now it doesn't show my blog title ~ just my name! Oh, well! LOL!)
I'm sorry you've had some uncouth posts. I just don't understand the necessity to be nasty on someone's blog. Disagreeing is one thing, but nasty is altogether another thing.
ReplyDeleteI'm also sorry that the nice ladies that do post under Anonymous won't be able to add their tips and hints, but I understand the reason for your change.
Every morning, I read your blog with my first cup of coffee and it always starts my day off on a good note.
Many Hugs,
Yvette
So sad that some people enjoy trying to make other people's lives unpleasant. You have a great blog - I check it nearly every day. God bless and keep up the good work! :)
ReplyDeleteI adore your blog and check it all the time. I have to confess that I have not as of yet made a comment. I am from Ontario, Canada. We enjoy living in a "down to earth" fashion. We are always excited to incoorporate new ideas but, more than everything love that sense of understanding and "home" your blog brings to us. I think your choice around these comments is wise and love your positive attitude.

This seems to happen to anyone who gets a large following on their blog - some people just seem to cruise blogs leaving pointless, rude comments just for the fun of it.
ReplyDeleteI cant believe people can be so awful - i personally tune into your blog when I want to feel uplifted and optimistic. I love what your doing, have a beautiful weekend yourself...
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine why anyone would have something nasty to say to you. You are so sweet and caring in your blog, and I am so glad I came acrossed it. It has helped me make more changes in my life towards more self sufficiency. I applaud what your doing, and getting rid of people like that is a very wise move. Chin up, because there seems to be many people like me who love what your doing on here.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, and many blessings to you.
Jill
Although I haven't been around here for very long I find it very hard to believe that anyone could even possibly find anything nasty to say to you.
ReplyDeleteWow, this world really is creepy after all.
Good for you to put a stop to it, if you are going to mean and nasty then we don't want you in our world...Right everyone???
Smart Move, Rhonda. Unfortunately, there will always be people who like to bring others down and doing so via the Internet gives them the opportunity to do it in a cowardly way.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for these people as they are clearly disturbed and pathetic.
Have a great weekend!!
I had to go to comment moderation last year due to comments I didn't want showing.
ReplyDeleteIt is beyond me why people feel they have to leave terrible remarks. No one is forcing them to read a blog.
I don't comment often but yours is still one of my very favorites.
I was reading another blog yesterday and the lady said she was having a really difficult time with someone leaving nasty and threatening messages on her blog. I am totally amazed at this behaviour. I just can't fathom the reasoning for it. For me, this blog has been a source of inspiration, motivation and enthusiasm for all that is good in life. I love it. Keep up the good work, Rhonda. You really are making a difference.
ReplyDeleteThank you for not taking off comments altogether, this is the action some take. You are standing up for your own property but still allowing the good in! Well done Rhonda.
ReplyDeleteLarissa in Country WA
I am amazed that anyone would have something bad to say!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to let you know that I read your blog every day and you have been a source of inspiration to me. I am a homeschooling mother of three and my life right now is so wrapped up in my family -it's pretty much all I do. Reading the blog of somebody who is at a different season in their life has been very hopeful for me. I am confident that when my children are gone and I need to find new things to do with my time, I will learn some new skills and continue living a home-centered life much as I do now.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine what negative things anybody could think to say about your blog posts - you're always so positive but I guess some folks are just unpleasant. My mom always told me such folks have unhappy home lives!
Samantha
You go!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is awesome. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.
:-)
Much love,
Cadi
I can not understand why anyone would have anything nasty to say - this is a wonderful blog.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the excellent work
Hi Rhonda,
ReplyDeleteI usually post anon, but always sign my name at the bottom. I'm sorry people have been sending nasty mails, as my boss always says "they don't know any better, and you are bigger than them" . I love reading your blog in the mornings, and if I miss a day, I know there will probably be 2 to read the next day. Now lets see if I can post using my google account,
Lots of love, light and hugs
Jean D
Hi Rhonda,
ReplyDeleteone thing more, if people are so negative about your blog why do they "waste" their time reading it, let alone posting a negative comment. I really don't understand unkind people.
love, light and hugs
Jean D
Rhonda, for lack of a better place to post this, did you see this??

Good Move. When I was blogging at Homesteadblogger we had an annoymous person that seemed to live to leave rude comments on peoples blogs. We felt it was one person because of the comments seemed similar in tone.
ReplyDeleteSome people need to learn the phrase "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all".
Ll and L, yes, I did know of that. It happened a few hundred km north of here. Yet another reason to grow your own.
ReplyDeleteIt is diasppointing that people behave in the way they do but, at least, you haven't been brought down by them.
ReplyDeleteLife is too short to be disallusioned by inadequate people!
The rest of the world loves your blog and its sound advice.
Johnson
The majority of readers here are decent folk and in total support of you! Don`t let the few nasties spoil the joy that you bring to us all with your blog. Keep blogging and teaching us all a thing or two, :0) Huggs and kisses xxxx Sarina.
