Weekend reading

I plan on sewing and gardening this weekend. For me, that's the perfect way to relax. What will you be doing? Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy yourself. I'll see you next week. ♥︎

This doesn't come as any surprise to me. All Australian women should read this article about superannuation.

  5. Haircut. Visiting family. Weeding in the garden. Starting a quilt for a nephew's graduation. And, today, Friday, is our "play day." We are taking one day a week to "vacation" at home. Happy weekend!

  7. A precious day coming up...Just me and our eldest granddaughter. She has just hit the teenage years. Our present was a trip to Stockholm by train, then a visit to the Ethnographic museum which is running a Japanese theme with workshops. Our girls spent a couple of weeks in Japan and fell in love with the culture and food. The present was a big success. So now I´m following it up with workshop nr 2 which has 4 themes. One is a method of Japanese embroidery which is practical and beautiful and is often used for mending jeans. Should be useful lol.
Best wishes from Uppsala, where we are now moving from spring into summer

    1. Hello Ramona! Lovely to 'see' you again. That's a lovely gift and I'm sure you had a beautiful day together. I've seen that Japanese embroidery on what I would call patched jeans but it was much nicer than our patching or darning. Enjoy your summer. xx

  8. I live in WA. Went to Albany over the weekend. Walked into a Dymocks Bookseller and asked if they got your book in stock. The friendly lady walk straight to the shelve and put your book in my hands. We discussed your previous books and it turns out that she is a massive fan of yours. Cannot wait to start reading. Long weekend ahead with rain predicted - nice excuse to curl up and read.

  9. As always a great assortment of articles to read and mull over.
I would like to give a big thumbs up to the Ministry of Handmade. I'm very fortunate to live about a ten minute drive away from them. Julie is a lovely lady and great teacher. I recently attended a basic upholstery course and participated in one of their community sewing days, making shaggy quilts for women in shelters fleeing domestic violence. Learning new skills and giving back to community, a perfect paring.
