We're looking forward to a visit from my sister. She arrives on Saturday and will stay a few weeks - a respite from the very cold winter in the mountains where she lives. We don't have a lot planned but I know there'll be trips out, sewing, knitting, gardening and many, many cups of tea in the sun.
Thanks for your visits this week. I hope the weather where you are isn't too harsh. It will change again soon and those of us who now long for warmer weather will probably want the cooler weather back, and vice versa. Enjoy the weekend, I'll see you again soon. xx

Thanks again for a great list to dip into over the weekend. I like the coriander ideas and will try one or all next time we have a surfeit in the aquaponics system. We have so much kale on hand at the moment I took to drying it (in the oven—our solution until we get a dehydrator) and then I used a coffee grinder to turn it into powder. The result is an amazing vibrant green dust which just yells 'goodness'.
ReplyDeleteHi Rhonda, as a long-time reader, just thought I would say a big thank you for all your postings - always interesting, often inspiring. I'm approaching my 60th birthday and resolved that in this my 60th year I would try all sorts of new things. I'm finding that every new thing I try opens several more doors of opportunity.
ReplyDeleteI always look through your Friday links, and despite reading the Guardian every day at home, I often find you've picked things I missed.
Hope you and your family have a great weekend, and that your sister's visit goes as well as always.
All th best, Deborah (in Bath, UK) xxxx
Wishing you a lovely time with your sister. Thank you for the link to the sampler, it's stunning and so whimsical.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your sis! I see far too little of mine so any time is treasured.
ReplyDeleteSummer seems to be winding down here and the nights are cooler and there is a bit of the feel of Fall in the air when I am outside early mornings. I am ready for cool weather after the incredibly hot summer we have had.
Oh, we're in for really hot weather this weekend, and that's OK, beats winter! I like your blog and thanks for the links to good things! Have a great visit with your sister!
ReplyDeleteHi Rhonda,
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing the picture of the sampler - I may yet get my embroidery needles out again!
I heard you interviewed on the slow your home blog this week as I had a few days off work. It was a lovely interview, very affirmative and encouraging especially for those new to a simple life. And encouraging for those of us who have been on the path a long time but seem to be in the 'marathon' chapter of life! We are having some days warm enough to sit in the sun now, so I'm making sure I do it - with plenty of lovely tea :-)
Enjoy the weekend, and your sister.

Loved the sampler too. Happy weekend and hope you and your sister have a lovely time. Pam in Norway
ReplyDeleteHi Rhonda, that sampler is exquisite...way beyond my capabilities, but I still love to admire works of art!
ReplyDeleteI have seen that cities colouring book, but couldn't get my head around it. Cities always look grey, brown black and glass to me, I can't see anything pretty to colour in! Mucb prefer living things like people, aninals, birds, fish, plants...that's just me ;-)
I hope you and your sister have a wonderful visit together! Thankyou for your links, I always enjoy them. :)

I love the notion of gardening as an act of political resistance. I like to say its a way of subverting the empire. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely and blessed time together Rhonda!
