Weekend reading

The master's apprentice. This is where Jamie leaves his spade.

I'll be busy with my writing most of the weekend. I'm hoping to have Sunday afternoon off to relax and prepare for next week. I hope you have the chance to relax too, even if you're busy, especially then. You need it. Whatever you do ever the weekend, I hope you enjoy yourself and spend time with the people you love. I'll see you next week.

  1. Thank yo so much for posting your 'weekend reading' each Friday. It is always full of interesting and inspirational articles. Of course, I very much enjoy reading your posts too. If it wasn't for finding your blog I don't think I would have had the courage to live this simple life that seems to be so different to the mainstream of our society.

  3. Hi Rhonda
I love your blog and read it for inspiration every morning before I start my day. I was wondering if in the future you could do a post on a couple of things I am struggling with in my new simple life. They are related I believe. How do you feel about fashion and the simple life. What types of clothing do you wear and are you at all influenced by outside forces to buy and wear up to date outfits. The other is body image. I am a larger lady, around a size 16 and I am truly happy this way but feel the constant pressure from family and the media to lose weight. My simple life also extends to my thought processes, I am happy being bigger. I don't wish to spend my life dieting and being miserable to fit into a size 12. Do you have any thoughts on either of these two issues?

  4. Good Morning Rhonda, I love that photo! How cute :)
Relax and enjoy some down time, and the weekend, I am sure you need it. Oh, my 30 yo son told me last night that he has one of his workmates reading your blog, they are both underground coal miners trying to make a difference to their lives, my son was laid off a few weeks ago due to the downturn so he is keen to learn. So there you go, big hairy miners are fans haha! Gave me a giggle!
Best wishes, Kathryn, who still can't work out how to make a google account :)

    1. Hi Kathryn, we used to live in the Bowen Basin in a torn called Glenden so I relate to mining families very well. I hope your son finds work soon. I've was hoping to answer your email this afternoon so I'll explain the google account thing in the email.

      xx

    2. Thanks Rhonda, happy to report that he has another job, in the Bowen Basin. His wife and littlies will be moving up that way too so they can be near him. Not too far away for us to visit! Thanks for replying, and I will have another 'crack' at the google thing this weekend xo

  7. Yes, thanks for the weekend reading list, Rhonda. I have already checked out that article about the baking mixes, which I rarely if ever, buy. Now I remember why. Disgusting; and it is good to review it again.
