Care for an adventure? This couple have just bought their new home. It's old, run down and needs a lot of renovation and TLC. They bought the old post office and school house in the Lockyer Valley, just outside of Brisbane. That where my dad's family is from so I might recognise a few places they'll blog about. Finance was approved two days ago, so now they're just about to move. Let's follow their journey.

Another week has faded into history and we're getting closer to Christmas. I'll have to start making some plans. I hope you have a beautiful weekend. Thank you for visiting me this week. See you soon!

Thank you so much for the link to the Walden Effect! I scrolled through some of their postings and maybe have found a solution for a root cellar! They are using a thermo cube T-3 -- the thermostat is in the outlet plug, cuing the fridge to stay between 35 and 45 F degrees. It would be very difficult to dig a hole here for a real cellar, but used fridges are a dime a dozen -- I have a spare in my basement that I store can goods in just for the shelf space.
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful blog. I'm pleased you found the info about the root cellar.
DeleteOhh how exciting that something I "played with" made it to your blog. Thank you for posting the link to The Old Post Office to. I'm going to watch that blog with interest. How exciting to restore a building with so much history and the bullet holes in the floor...vbg. Have a lovely weekend Rhonda.
ReplyDeleteHi Calidore! You've been reading this blog for as long as I have. LOL
DeleteThank you so much for the link, Rhonda! We're thrilled it's all been given the go ahead and the pressure's on now to turn it into something wonderful. Edwina (The Old Post Office)
ReplyDeleteHi Edwina, we'll be watching with interest to see what you do there. My dad's family - The McGraths and the Swensons are from Forest Hill and Laidley.
DeleteIt's a nice part of the world. Forest Hill particularly seems to be looking very well loved at the moment, there's some nice little shops and cafes there now.
DeleteHi Rhonda...the bottom blog you mentioned has the wrong link...it's linking to A Creekside Cottage blog like the one above...just needs some changing. Regards Kathy A, Brisbane
ReplyDeletethanks for letting me know Kathy. It's all fixed now.
DeleteThanks for sharing the link the The Old Post Office, Rhonda. I'm sure this is a story I am going to follow with delight.
ReplyDeleteThank you for some lovely links this week Rhonda, The Old Post Office is a lovely blog and I'm very familiar with that area too so I look forward to following along with their new journey. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a beautiful day and have had a beautiful meal with the people you love today. We just finished our Thanksgiving meal and are about to go pick out our Christmas tree.
ReplyDeleteWhat were you thankful for today? I´ve been doing thankful Thursdays this month on my blog. Today I covered how I was thankful for my home and its inhabitants.
