It wasn't until late yesterday afternoon that I realised it was actually Thursday. Thursday is our kitchen sink day, so although it's one day late, here is Serena's kitchen sink. Serena blogs at serenassecretgardens. Thanks for sending your photos, Serena.
Serena writes:
"Here are a couple of pics of our kitchen sink and our kitchen. With a steady flow of kids and WWOOFers (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) the kitchen doesn’t often look this tidy. But i make sure it does at least once a day! The little red guy in the corner is our voodoo man knife block. We have a bit of a red theme happening in the kitchen.
Hope you like it."
I love this sink/kitchen...it looks happy and lively, where a life is really lived to the full!!

Serena ~ What a lovely kitchen you have. The red accents are really nice. I really like your tile backsplash. Now I'm off to visit your blog.

I love your blog - what interesting topics you cover. Will be back to read more. What a lovely tidy kitchen - my sort of kitchen:)
ReplyDeleteJo
I love the voodoo man knife block also! Where can I get one?
ReplyDeleteDid a quick search for the voodoo knife blocks. They are available on EBAY. (enter "voodoo knife block")

Have you ever noticed that photos of kitchens in magazines never have anything left on the countertops or benches? Nice to see some real working kitchens for a change! Anna
ReplyDeleteI like the red theme! There is a happy look to this kitchen. I think perhaps people laugh a lot here. My nephew who has his own organic farm on an island in Auke bay in Alaska, was just here in Ohio for a few days on his way back to Juneau from being a WWOFer in Spain. He's been doing this for years. The CSA farm I belong to also has WWOFers. What a great movement.....I have all my knives on a magnetic strip beside the stove. Maybe I can put a red magnet up there...
ReplyDeleteThe red looks lovely in your kitchen - also really like the lamp, it's a nice soft accent.
ReplyDeletePaula - I've seen the Voodoo man knife block at King of Knives in a local shopping centre here in Toowoomba, Qld.

Serena, your kitchen is lovely! The voodoo man knife block is very interesting....I've never seen anything like it! Thank you for sharing your kitchen with us. :)
ReplyDeleteMe again! I noticed your olive oil tin (nice and large with a lovely illustration). It could easily be repurposed as a quaint plant pot - I have seen something like that done before, and plan on doing it myself.
ReplyDeleteI checked out your Blog and have bookmarked it. :-)

That looks similar to the kitchen in the house we've just bought! Lovely
ReplyDeleteI love the red and white theme! My kitchen needs a redo and i have been putting it off. I think i will go with the red and white theme too! The VOODOO MAN KNIFE BLOCK is the very first thing that caught my eye too! JUST GOTTA LAUGH!!
ReplyDeleteI like the cream and black. I had always thought to paint our cabinets white, but I like the cream, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat to do, what to do.
My young sons and I got a good chuckle out of the "knife guy."
What a pretty kitchen!
ReplyDeletelovely Serena, thanks for sharing - love the colour scheme too :)
ReplyDeleteJeni
LOVE THE VOODOO MAN! So UNIQUE!
ReplyDeleteAs was mentioned before, it is so wonderful to see a working kitchen. Those magazine kitchens are never laid out for real people to work in.
ReplyDeleteI have red in my kitchen too, and the knife block would be perfect.
Yvette
Red in the kitchen, yes! Gives me some ideas for mine and I especially love the voodoo knife man!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of having a little lamp in the kitchen - makes it look so cosy ... think I will steal this idea if you don't mind Serena!

The knife block's a tad on the gruesome side, but a lovely tidy kitchen!

ReplyDeleteThe voodoo man made me laugh!
ReplyDeleteVery nice kitchen! I love the lighting!

ReplyDeleteLovely kitchen! It looks very inviting, and the voodoo doll is a riot! I think that could really come in handy....
ReplyDeleteAnother nice kitchen. Not sure on the voodoo man though...---Krystal
ReplyDeleteLove the Lamp, thats a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThat knife block is priceless!
ReplyDeleteI love Mr. Stabbed Man in the corner. He's so much better than a bulky wood block!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments !!! The knife guy definitely is a talking point, a bit wicked I think!!
ReplyDeleteThat is the coolest knife block I've ever seen! I love the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteSerena - I love you voodoo knife block! Need one of those myself now that I've seen it. What lucky WWOOFers you must have - I checked out your blog, you have a beautiful place. I was a WWOOFer years ago, which is how I met my husband who was over in Canada from England!
