But now I'm getting better at pruning. I guess experience is a good teacher. I have shoots growing below graft on my grevillas, avocado and rose. And while a bit late, I have blueberries to prune too ... just a light prune but I will need to be careful so I don't impact fruiting. I use both flowers and berries for wine making! Delicious! Did you know you should ask the Elder tree for permission before pruning? It is also known as the witch tree! Our little lavender tree near the veggies had brown twigs (previously flowers) I've trimmed all of those off.<br />Our plants and veggies are still quite young and the larger trees out the front I leave to my husband. We are opposites in that sense though. I would give the trees a big 'haircut' whereas my husband gives them a 'light trim.'<br />As always I enjoy your photos too.<br />KylieHome Is My Havenhttps://homesmyhaven.blogspot.com.aunoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5089828552519076506.post-43269748737371478202017-04-11T04:38:48.459+10:002017-04-11T04:38:48.459+10:00Tanya, I closed the forum.Tanya, I closed the forum.rhonda jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08962112306968959985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5089828552519076506.post-14743517722725342472017-04-11T00:14:21.159+10:002017-04-11T00:14:21.159+10:00Hi Rhonda, lovely, informative post. We bought a huge pot at a garage sale so now I just need the gardener's help to move both it and the elderberry to a suitable place where it gets more sun. Thanks for the pruning tips. They will come in handy. Nanna Chelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07500527266771727074noreply@blogger.com
