I have learned things from you that I should have learned from my mother and grandmother. Although we live in the US we are a military family and have personal friends who live in Japan and a few who are there helping with the disaster. There is no way I would put that on my blog though. Those things are personal to us and not just for everyone to read about. I'm so angry for you. It takes A LOT to blog everyday. It takes a lot of time and you put a lot "out there" for others to read about your personal lives. Maybe people don't realize that. But it makes me angry. Just wanted you to know that even though I don't "know" you I love you dearly and what you are doing and have done.Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17313676895153652855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5089828552519076506.post-44822498136477025922011-03-27T06:47:38.827+10:002011-03-27T06:47:38.827+10:00Rhonda, you are doing just fine. Firstly, I think its amusing that Anna-Jackie felt it was ok to write on other people's blog. If they really wanted to observe "silence" online for Japan, they shouldnt be writing online either!

Rhonda, I am tired of listening, reading and watching bad news all day. Your blog along with a few others bring me respite from the stress of everyday life. Visiting your blog is stres relief for me! Im actually glad that not every single website I visit has to mention the catastrophes that's occuring.

I personally dont think observing silence or whatever it is will help Japan. They need help - donate to Red Cross, send your prayers to them..etc. We all have our ways of helping and we dont need to publicize what we're doing to help.
Internet trolls are everywhere but I hope you can see how loved you are :)emmenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5089828552519076506.post-53351078683238914782011-03-27T04:39:29.716+10:002011-03-27T04:39:29.716+10:00Great post and I am in total agreement with you. It smacks of the breast-cancer awareness campaigns on Facebook where women post their bra colors, a fruit that's meant to symbolize their relationship status or some other nonsense of that sort that accomplishes NOTHING for breast cancer. I know it's out there and it sucks for those who have it, but telling the world the color of my bra won't accomplish anything for those dealing with cancer. Same with a day of blogging silence. If people want to accomplish something, then make a donation! Good grief.

You have a really lovely blog, btw. I'm glad for you that you have a book deal. I intend to purchase a copy when it becomes available. I'm a SAHW (who will unexpectedly become a SAHM in a few months) who appreciates reading other's thoughts on being at home. It's so different from what the world expects of women these days, and it's so nice to find others who see the value in being at home and loving it!Anne Marie@Married to the Empirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16600919522369171555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5089828552519076506.post-17989653081381374142011-03-24T21:18:28.682+10:002011-03-24T21:18:28.682+10:00We have all felt our heart hurt in sympathy and em...We have all felt our heart hurt in sympathy and empathy for those in Japan! Like you I mark my feelings about tragedies in my own way, and not along with a flock of sheep who think the only way to be respectful is publicly with great 'shows' of despair and feeling. Is it because you feel part of a community you don't happen to live in true life where individualism may be the rule ? Possibly. Even more when you live in France (as I do) and bloggers live in New Zealand or else. That is no reason for criticism if they don't of course. I agree with every part of your article. Keep going and sharing. As for your "money project", I will surely buy it! Congrats to them for pointing out they are human enough to think of Japan. I guess we wouldn't have known it otherwise???

Your readers have pretty much said it all. MOST of the readership here are all about NOT going with the crowd or being directed by others agenda's -- that's exactly why we are here.

And I must say...if you have access to blog reading or are a blogger yourself, then you've got access to news 24/7. Never ending. Can find out anything anytime. Why would all the blogs want to compete with the news? Its out there. My blogs are not where I look for that kind of info. And I'm certain that the bloggers I read are very human and caring so I don't need them to tell me what they think of every disaster...I'm certain they are every bit as broken up about it as I am.

Anyways...you didn't need another reader to tell you I agree but I really value your site Rhonda.
