It is not a good choice for the stitching spoken about in this post. For surface or free form stitching any plain fabric is fine but a medium weight cotton or linen is ideal. If you look at my last post on dishcloths (I think) there is a photo of some italian silky looking pure cotton I bought recently at Spotlight. It's made up the best dishcloths I've even knitted.
