Workshops

There will be some workshops at the Maleny Neighbourhood Centre you may be interested in if you're living close by. Sonya, from Permaculture Pathways, will be presenting a Worm Farming Workshop this Tuesday from 10am. On November 16 and 26, Sonya will be presenting Keeping Chooks in the Backyard.  All these workshop are five dollars each.

There are also three free workshops focused on frugal living – The Frugal Home, The Frugal Parent and the Frugal Senior.  All these workshops examine how to live well on a budget. Common to all of them is information about monitoring electricity, gas and phone usage, budgeting, homemade green cleaners and laundry liquid. The Frugal Parent also takes in modern cloth nappies, second hand clothing and homemade baby food; the Frugal Senior focuses on topics relevant to our older citizens.

The next Frugal Parent workshop is on Wednesday November 16 and The Frugal Home will be on Wednesday November 23, both at 10am, both are free.

Bookings are essential. Please phone 54999345 to make a booking.

  1. Those workshops sound fantastic Rhonda...wish i still lived in Caloundra so i could take advantage of them!I remember travelling to Maleny each weekend with Dad to get bananas as Mum and Dad had a home fruit and veg business selling from a truck. Used to travel around to those who didn't get to shops or wanted their vegies fresh, local and home delivered.....i haven't seen anything similar in a long time!
I might mention these workshops to my old workplace if that's ok (they are a family support network)I really miss coming up with ideas and projects such as these and taking them out into the community!Hope it all goees well...enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  2. I love the things that are being done in your area, Rhonda. I also think it is great that the workshops are so cheap ...making it attainable for everyone. This is such a great way of connecting your community and you and the other presenters should be proud of your efforts.

  3. I'm a follower of your fantastic blog; it's very inspiring!
Today over here in The Netherlands and Flanders is the start of "No Impact Week 2011". I joined the initiative, which is really great, worth trying for yourself, on your personal way to (trying)living frugally and simply.
Great workshops you recommended, but I am sorry, can't come. I'll keep following your blog instead!
    Cheers!

  4. It's truly very complicated in this active life to listen news on Television, so I just use world wide web for that reason, and obtain the newest information.
