Links for stockpiling

These are links to some blogs for backup reading on the pantry and stockpile. This is an important subject that will benefit most of us when we get it right. It's well worth any time you give it to read more.

Happy 4th of July to my American friends. I hope you enjoyed your special day.

Remember, those of you who are doing the no spend week, most of us have started now. If you're celebrating the 4th, it's fine to start tomorrow. Good luck, everyone.

  1. It is a good thing my family celebrated the 4th of July a day early.

It has been pouring down rain all day today. Our garden is doing well with too much rain except the tomatoes. They look terrible.

Thank you for the link. :)

  2. Thanks for the reminder!

We are eating within 100 miles and so I am preserving like crazy at the moment. However, I have not been planning it well and I have an abundance of certain things and none of others.

I now have a plan for my food storage. Thanks!

  5. When you have your stockpile of goods you are less tempted to eat food out of your home or pick things up on impulse. For you have the ingredients to make the food dishes that your family love right in your own home. No running out for one item to make dinner. Also you have gotten those goods at the best price and will replace them at a good price also when they start to run out. So you are saving time and money and eating oh so good. Joy in Michigan

  6. Love the picture of the storageroom at your first link. Looks a little like ours, but that's not as beautiful as the picture. Maybe we can refresh ours with a touch of white paint. Thanks for the tip!

  7. Hi Rhonda--thanks for the notice of the USA holiday. I live in Montana and I always had a soft spot for YOUR country ever since the 2001 wildfires here. Australia sent firefighting crews to help out, and we've never forgotten it. So thanks to an Aussie on behalf of a Yank. :)
